The Redskins spent a large portion of their draft class on defensive backs, and decided to go ahead and look at them all at once.
The Redskins started cornerback David Amerson and safeties Bacarri Rambo and Phillip Thomas, as they take a look at all the kids in the preseason opener.
Granted, regular starting cornerbacks DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson didn’t dress, and neither did safety Brandon Meriweather. But there are jobs available if the kids can play well.
Amerson, their second-rounder, broke up a pass early, and has a chance at significant playing time this year regardless of injuries.
And on a night when quarterback Robert Griffin III was in uniform but watching safely on the sidelines, it counts as something to keep an eye on. Backup Kirk Cousins just threw a touchdown pass to tight end Fred Davis, giving them a 7-0 lead over the Titans.
UPDATE 8:32 p.m. ET: And as soon as I hit send on that one, Rambo just got taken to school by Titans running back Chris Johnson, looking fairly silly in the open field on a 58-yard touchdown run.
