RG3 workload continues to increase

Redskins coach Mike Shanahan is willing to be the bad cop (now) when it comes to quarterback Robert Griffin III’s workload.

But it appears that Griffin’s insistence that he’s ready to do more is being heard.

According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Griffin took 53 of the 70 snaps in the Redskins walkthrough this morning. (And as a side note, tracking walkthrough snaps is something the Jets beat writers are going to have to start doing more of, because frankly we’re getting bored with Mark Sanchez’s 7-on-7 passer rating.)

Jones said RG3 is expected to do some 11-on-11 work tomorrow, as they continue to try to keep him progressing in his comeback from knee surgery, without putting the regular season opener in jeopardy.
