Trent Richardson to make preseason debut Thursday

Browns running back Trent Richardson missed the preseason opener, but he’s good to go this week.

Coach Rob Chudzinski said today that Richardson will be Cleveland’s starting running back in Thursday night’s exhibition game against the Lions. Richardson is expected to play the first two series.

Richardson has been dealing with a shin injury, but he says it feels fine.

I don’t even know what shin y’all talking about,” he told reporters.

Although Richardson’s durability has been a concern, he was able to start 15 games as a rookie last year and compile 267 carries for 950 yards, plus 51 catches for 367 yards.

    1,800 yards this year.

For being an “injury-prone” player he sure did play in a high percentage of games, didn’t he? 15/16….what is that? 93.75%. And he broke the franchise rookie rushing TD number. And he made people afraid to tackle him. And he had broken/cracked ribs for much of the time.

The kid is a monster. And yes, I’m eager to see him again this year.

You can already tell that he is going to be the oft injured type.

  7. jrs45 says: Aug 13, 2013 7:18 PM

Kid can be a pro bowler if healthy.

root4myschlong….do you not understand that the kid HAS in fact had injury issues not just as a professional. I love him. He is a monster. It’s just that if he ain’t healthy he will sit and gather dust and he’ll remind us of our blown 3rd pick overall (traded up for I might add). Let’s just hope and pray he delivers…but you can’t ignore his injury profile.

Cross your fingers and hope china doll dose not scrape his knee.

Broken leg on fifth carry, and we will all point and laugh at the lowly Browns and their crushed dreams.

Funny how RG3 isnt considered injury prone. I believe hes has had 2 surgeries on his knees(one in college or h.s, and one last saeson), but nahh TR is way more injury prone so lets just talk about that instead of how great he can/will be!!!

Go Browns and i cant wait to see him running through defense’s and proving u Cleveland haters wrong (75-85% of you are obvious haters so it’ll be that much sweeter)

Too bad he plays for a horrible team.

@clevelandschronic China Doll is no ALFRED MORRIS. By the way china doll really tore it up last year against The Redskins. Also the back up QB torched your team last year. Same old browns.

Trent Richardson will never win a championship until he leaves Cleveland. Just ask Bill Belechik, Ozzie Newsome, and Lebron James.

I remember when they called AP fragile too.

After having to endure the likes of William Green, Lee Suggs, Jerome Harrison, and Peyton Hillis since ’99 I’ll resist the urge to label a back who started 15/16 games and ended up with 1,300 yards 12 td (with broken ribs for a quarter of the season) “fragile”.

Dude just needs to learn how to use a juke more effectively and better recognize when a play is dead so to step out and live another day.

Bust some heads Trent. Steelers, ratbirds and Bungles are scared.

Let’s see if Humpty Dumpty can get through a quarter without another ouchie.

Wow! Lotsa haters hatin on C-town as the season draws near! Browns are gonna surprise this year and I think there might be some cause for concern from the rivals. Kinda like that little kid that learned karate over the summer and put a beat down on the tormenting bully from last school year. Go T-Rich! Go Browns!

Just speaking as a fan of another team. Why is there so much hate towards Cleve? I could understand fans making fun of dal sf Pitt gb teams that have actually won but why a team who never has? Just always wondered…..why kick a man while he’s down.

80sbroncofan, I don’t know whats funnier, your take on Trent Richardson or the mugshots of your executives arrested for DUI.Or how the Broncos lost one of their best players because they couldn’t operate a fax machine.Or how they choked during the afc championship game.

  22. wildwalt7 says: Aug 13, 2013 11:44 PM

My mistake it wasn’t the AFC championship game,The great Broncos didn’t make it that far.

You people are nuts if you think the Browns still stink. They won’t win a playoff game, but they aren’t a joke anymore.

  24. steelerben says: Aug 14, 2013 1:27 PM

This looks like the first season in many that the Browns will field a competitive team. For the first time since TIM COUCH they will be starting the same QB in consecutive years. The offensive line is strong enough to hold up to Baltimore, Pittsburgh, and Cincinnati’s pass rush without getting the QB murdered. If Richardson can get healthy and stay healthy, he should be good for 1500 yards, if you include the screens you KNOW he’s going to see. The receiving corp might be able to catch more than a cold this year. That defense has shocked more than one team and will be solid.

That said, with Browns Luck, they will end up 7-9 wondering what happened.
