NFL trainers are going to have to come up with new schedules, because it appears every injured player in the league is ahead of his.
The latest to make a sooner-than-expected comeback is Texans wide receiver DeVier Posey, who tore his Achilles in Houston’s playoff loss to the Patriots in January.
According to Tania Ganguli of ESPN.com, Texans coach Gary Kubiak said Posey is close to being activated from the PUP list, and could be back as soon as next week.
Posey said his doctor told him a return for the regular season opener was possible.
“I can almost dunk now,” Posey said. “It’s pretty amazing.”
A torn Achilles used to be an automatic year out, but players such as Terrell Suggs have changed the timetable, and Posey could be the next to change what we expect from such injuries.
