Heckert returns to work Thursday for Broncos

If the Broncos end up having to find a replacement on the roster for linebacker Von Miller, who is facing a four-week suspension, a key front-office employee who was suspended for a month will be able to help.

Via the Associated Press, Broncos pro personnel director Tom Heckert returns to work on Thursday, following the banishment arising from a DUI arrest. The team imposed a one-month suspension after the June 11 incident came to light in July.

A pro personnel director primarily is responsible for assessing NFL players currently with other teams or free agents with NFL experience.

Heckert previously served as G.M. of the Eagles and Browns.

Broncos director of player personnel Matt Russell, who was arrested for DUI in July, remains indefinitely suspended.
