PFT on NBCSN: Phil Emery, Bears/Vikings camp updates

Bears Camp Football AP

Our series of training camp updates heads to the NFC North on Wednesday’s edition of Pro Football Talk on NBCSN.

Bears General Manager Phil Emery will speak to Scott Pioli about his team as we check in with his team and their rivals in Minnesota. We’ll hear Emery’s thoughts on quarterback Jay Cutler, coach Marc Trestman and the decision to part ways with linebacker Brian Urlacher during his visit.

When the focus shifts to the Vikings, their offseason machinations will be front and center. They signed wide receiver Greg Jennings and added three first-round picks to a team that made the playoffs last season and we’ll discuss whether those moves will be enough to make it two straight berths in the postseason tournament.

It all gets started at 5 p.m. ET on NBCSN.

The NFC North should be a fun division to watch this year. Skol!

and the battle for the bottom of the north begins

  5. mitchlt3ski says: Aug 14, 2013 5:10 PM

That battle for the bottom will be week 4 and week 10 when the bears and lions face off.

Bears won 10 games last year and had a great off season.

We’re becoming a division other teams won’t want to have to play. These teams could finish in almost any order. Almost.

The hapless and tasteless Bears have lost 6 straight games to the Packers – including a NFC Championship Game held at Soldier Field.

I want to know why Emery hasn’t been able to make the rivalry more competitive.

Hold on there Son. If Culter can take what the new Offensive minded coach is handing out, he might surprise a few people.

We should be worried about the Vikings. They are the healthiest team in the division this year. Their QB is finally healthy from his shoulder injury and he was throwing some amazing deep balls in camp.

They also have the MVP and the big TE Rudolph.

    Vikings
    Packers
    Bears
    Lions in the order.

mcnasty, have you ever said anything that someone could take from your comments, and say yes that is a good idea, or whatever. Take your useless, senseless, obnoxious, condescending, a s sanine, comments back to huffpo where you belong. Idiot

    @filthymcnasty

Perhaps you should be focused on how to beat San Fran. A team that whooped your ass last year, not once but TWICE and knocked your precious Packers out of the playoffs. Week 1 might not be too pretty for you.

Bears will be lucky if they get to 8-8 this year. I just don’t think it will come together for them. Too much Phil Emery, he’s everwhere, way too full of himself – go back behind the scenes…

This is Emery’s second season as The Chicago Bear’s GM….yes, second season. That request is unreasonable. The Rivalry is extremely competitive and the oldest in the NFL.

Please come with some new and creative material or keeping sounding like Rainman…..up to you Cheese Fan!

    Dear Phil,

Please don’t take any GM advice from Mr. Pioli.

    Sincerely,

All Bears fans and any Chief fans

Where’s a link to the video? Some people work and can’t watch the show live…..thanks

Vikings and Packer fans seem to forget that only 1 win separated the Bears/Vikings/Packers last season. Feel free to be arrogant if you’d like but the reality is no single team is that much better than the rest.

Why do you guys let such an obvious troll like filthymcnasty get to you so much? Yes, his team has been better as of late. Who cares? Nothing lasts forever. Give the mouth-breathing cheese head his enjoyment. Living vicariously through his favorite team is all he has.
