Doug Martin leaves the field with trainers

Baltimore Ravens v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Buccaneers started without their two starting guards, and didn’t get through a quarter without losing another key piece to the offense.

Running back Doug Martin left the field with trainers after apparently taking a knee to the head while trying to pass protect.

He walked to the locker room under his own power, sans helmet.

The Bucs gave backup LeGarrette Blount away to the Patriots this offseason (actually in exchange for track guy Jeff Demps), leaving them looking for a suitable insurance policy for Martin. Backup Brian Leonard didn’t dress, leaving rookie Mike James to work with the starters while they lasted.
