The Bengals got wide receiver A.J. Green back at practice this week, but you’ll need an HBO subscription to catch a glimpse of how he’s looking.

Green will not play against the Titans on Saturday night as the Bengals have decided to give their star wideout a little more time after his bruised knee before putting him into a game situation. It was hardly an unexpected development given the importance of Green to the offense and the lack of a need to see him play in a scheme he has down pat and the fact that his work in practice drew raves should tamp down concerns about the injury lingering into the regular season.

With wide receiver Andrew Hawkins also remaining out for the Bengals, the other wideouts on the depth chart will get plenty of opportunities to show the team’s coaches where they belong on the depth chart.

Left tackle Andrew Whitworth, defensive end Carlos Dunlap, defensive end Michael Johnson and safety George Iloka are other notable Bengals that the team announced will not be taking the field in the team’s second preseason game.
