Dolphins tight end Dustin Keller was taken from the field on a cart in the second quarter of Saturday’s exhibition game at Houston after sustaining an apparent right leg injury.
As seen in this graphic still shot of a TV replay from Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press, Keller’s leg bent awkwardly on the play in which he appeared to be injured.
The 28-year-old Keller signed with the Dolphins in the offseason after spending five seasons with the Jets. He’s expected to be a key part of a passing game that had an otherwise strong first half on Saturday night. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 10-of-15 passes for 141 yards, and wideout Mike Wallace racked up 58 receiving yards and caught a touchdown. However, if Keller were lost for an extended length of time, it could prove a material blow to Miami’s offense.
