Fleener suffers sprained knee

Many think Colts tight end Coby Fleener could have a huge sophomore season.  But he first has to be able to play, and at a minimum Fleener received a scare in that regard on Sunday night.

He exited the preseason game against the Colts with a knee injury.  The Colts are calling it a “mild” sprain; it’s unclear at this point whether Fleener has undergone an MRI to determine the precise extent of the injury.

Fleener, a second-round pick in 2012, is one of several potent weapons that Colts have on offense.  He recently missed some practice time after suffering a concussion.

All training camp Colts fans have heard nothing but great things so far. Thus far in 2 preseason games he’s:

1.) Fumbled getting hit against the Bills
2.) Dropped a touchdown from Matt Hasselbeck
3.) Dropped a 2nd and long pass that could have been 6.
    4.) He’s sustained a concussion
    5.) Sprained his knee

I think until Fleener proves to more reliable, he will be rightfully questioned as someone who may never materialize.

With Fleener struggling and Allen’s foot questionable, suddenly Indy has issues at a position they thought was solid for the long-term future: Tight End. Not good.

I have a hard time understanding why everyone’s riding his jock, he’s been decent but nothing special.

Fleener is a overhyped bum. Dwayne Allen was better in college, and he’s been better in the league. He’s the future at TE for the Colts, not Fleener.

I guarantee Coby Fleener will be a bust.

Not sure you could call him a “potent” weapon at this point! Seems like it’s going to take him a little more time before the light comes on.
