Dennis Allen has no problems with Alex Barron

Former Rams General Manager Billy Devaney, who is now being paid to say things, had a harsh critique of Raiders tackle Alex Barron.

But Barron’s current coach doesn’t see where that criticism is coming from.

After Devaney said Barron “does not like anything about the game except getting paid,” Raiders coach Dennis Allen disagreed.

“I only have my perspective on Alex Barron since the time he got here,” Allen said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. “I haven’t seen that at all from him. I’ve seen a guy who has to continue to improve and continue to work to get better. I’ve seen a guy that’s out here, working hard for this team each and every day.”

Granted, Allen needs to say that, because with Jared Veldheer out for some time after triceps surgery, Barron’s the next man up at left tackle.

Barron could also use some confidence, after the first offensive line gave up five sacks in a half at New Orleans.

I think Dennis did not see last game… as a Raiders fan this makes me sad

What’s he supposed to say? “Oh, he was only gonna be camp fodder, and look what I have to deal with now!”

Again not sticking up for Barron but devany is a former GM for a reason. He’s the one that has no business in proffesional football. Devanys a turd. Gloating about his draft picks when rams record was 7-9 before they lost to the Seahawks

He must have stole a page out of Rex Ryans book and was not watching the offense. The good thing is at least he was not stupid enough to admit it to the media.

We just about had a decent season (ie 5 games) and then this happened. Good draft class next year at top 5 tho.

Allen is just doing his job. He can’t motivate Barron to play better, because they don’t have another option until Veldheer returns.

… except for his pass-protection and run blocking. Everything else is fine.

He is not a great player and I sincerely hope he is not our starting tackle but to question his heart is not for us. Only the guys standing next to him when the ball is snapped can speak to that.

He’s lying, but what is he supposed to say?

Dennis Allen is a great coach. A true players coach. Time will tell.

another guy who sucked so bad at his job in the nfl ends up at bspn where all the irrelevants can get employed. Only prerequisite is you have to be a raider hater in order to work there.

    I mean Billy Boy….really!

    former GM…there you have it……

Why does dennis allen have to say anything…..there are tens of thousands of guys wanting to play in the nfl, yet only 1696 make a roster….so no matter what there is a reason why this guy was a first round pick, and why he is in the league still….that really is the bottom line.

I was waiting for him to get “Sage-o-coptered” in the Saints game.

Very true, unfortunately it doesn’t make Barron any less of a turd.

Alex Barron is to football as Kentucky Fried Chicken is to a balanced organic diet.

-if your one of those people who assumes I am being racist for using KFC as the comedic food choice;shame on you. If it bothers you plug McDonalds into said analogy.

Dennis Allen is an idiot….just like when he thought it was a good idea to tell Carson Palmer there was going to be a quarterback competition….lol, against Prior. He basically painted himself into a corner and they lost big on the trade with Arizona. Nice job Allen!

Mckenzie will be a former GM soon after his mishandling of the Raiders last year and this offseason.

This O line has played 2 games together, so it’s time to panic?
We have plenty of time to panic later.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Allen continued to say, “He also likes the groupies and getting VIP status at clubs.”
