In hotel incident, Incognito told police he was breaking up a fight

Richie Incognito AP

We passed along a report today that Dolphins guard Richie Incognito punched and knocked out a hotel security guard in an incident before the start of training camp. We now have some more information about the matter.

PFT has obtained a copy of the police report connected to the incident, and Incognito’s side of the story was that he was merely trying to break up a fight.

The incident took place when Incognito and his friends were attempting to get close to the stage during a performance at a club in the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami. A security guard told police that he asked Incognito’s group to step back, and someone in the group replied, “f–k you and what are you going to do about it?”

At that point, an altercation started between the security guard and Incognito’s friend, and Incognito told police that he was just trying to step in and stop the fight when he was hit in the face by the guard. The police report says Incognito had minor injuries to his face but declined medical treatment.

Incognito was not arrested but was escorted from the club and given a trespass warning, and he was told not to return to the hotel without permission.

Maybe it was some other fat guy with the tiny head. Say hello to Chris Farley’s estranged evil brother.

….Oh, but he’s got his act together. Its Antonio Smith’s fault.

    This guy is a dope.

  4. keylimelight says: Aug 21, 2013 6:49 PM

Seems like Incognito was born to have trouble around him, always spoiling for a fight. SMH.

I guess he didn’t go incognito.

Also noted in the Police report was the guard/bouncer had NO injuries. Had Incognito “punched and knocked him out” as Schefter reported, do you really think he would have no injuries? Amazing the timing and irony of this after the Antonio Smith incident……

Can’t be true. NFL players don’t get in trouble off the field!! :-D!!

I wish they would name just who Incognito is. I’ve been waiting years to find out just who the hell is on first and now this!

This is a tough one. Im by no means an Incognito fan (other than the cool name), but its hard for me to root for a security guard. Reminds me of when Anthony Hargrove got in a fight w/ a douche bouncer in Rochester when the Bills were having their Training Camp. Completely instigated by the wana be cop too

  14. snowman36 says: Aug 21, 2013 8:48 PM

Oh man what’s the big deal? Incognito KO’d some Zimmerman.

  15. buhbay1c says: Aug 21, 2013 8:48 PM

I worked at a bar years ago and there were many fights. Not once did I ever see the police arrest a person for trying to break it up.

  16. Obama's Ballsack says: Aug 21, 2013 9:07 PM

Maybe he should of went ‘incognito’ lol

Did anybody get my joke? Incognito means to hide your identity and seeing as he was in a fight he might of got away. Also his last name is Incognito. It’s a nice play on words. I had to edit it to explain it because I noticed no one gave me a thumbs up.

“You see officer I was trying to get back stage with some of my buddies and the security guard wouldn’t let us through. So that my friend Riley caledl the security guard a bad word.. Riley, back me up on this”

So basically the media digs up dirt when an event of interest occurs. Those running for public office shouldn’t until they bury their cookie stealing history, lousy transcripts, and parking tickets.

  24. jayquintana says: Aug 21, 2013 9:45 PM

Assuming he can be found, Incognito’s going to have to write a check with a lot off 0s on it.

  25. iammrbinky says: Aug 21, 2013 9:50 PM

Nothing to see here. Incognito was the person who called police. The club refuses to release the video to police. One plus one equals two. Unless of course your a Jets fan.

  26. phinfan says: Aug 21, 2013 10:02 PM

    Was he arrested? NO!

SO DROP THE HEAD HUNT!!! GO FINS!

  27. Dolphins Nation says: Aug 21, 2013 10:07 PM

Richie doesn’t need a helmet to hit you in the face with. He’ll just use his fist Antonio Smith.

  28. albundy4tds1game says: Aug 21, 2013 10:09 PM

Guess he didn’t go incognito afterall

  29. youcantmakemepickausername says: Aug 21, 2013 10:12 PM

I guarantee you Incognito and his boy wouldn’t have pulled this crap if they were at The Double Deuce, because Dalton and Wade Garrett would take them out.

  30. ivedoneyourwife says: Aug 21, 2013 10:39 PM

Meh to the story but I served a lot time-with them folks from Texas out there in the service.
Though I’m from Jax Fl, I still love and respect those guys.

  31. dukeblue12 says: Aug 21, 2013 10:45 PM

The only reason I blame Antonio Smith is because he let this guy get under his skin a 2nd time, in a preseason game, no less.

Richie’s good at what he does

  32. blancodiablo says: Aug 21, 2013 11:14 PM

He was being a jerk and pushing people aside for his “posse” to get close to the stage. And he strikes me as being so intelligent.

  33. jdphx says: Aug 21, 2013 11:23 PM

Things can get pretty rowdy at a Beiber show…

  34. All-American Voltron says: Aug 21, 2013 11:33 PM

What the police report didn’t state was that Riley Cooper was with Icognito, and when the security guard told them to get back, Cooper said “oh, yeah if you let me through I’ll fight every—” and then Incognito knocked him out before he could finish the sentence.

  35. blackhawks2010 says: Aug 22, 2013 12:02 AM

For a turnstile, Incognito is getting a lot of press today….terrible oline man, just awful.

  36. finswins says: Aug 22, 2013 1:12 AM

Hey Buhbay…can you read?? He DID NOT get arrested for anything…JEEEZZ!!

  37. pabrownsfan says: Aug 22, 2013 3:27 AM

    just another wanna be cop

  38. relggigeht says: Aug 22, 2013 6:10 AM

Well, the Dolphins will always have that overrated, over-hyped 1972 season to cling on to. Ha!

  39. 69finfan says: Aug 22, 2013 7:09 AM

Richie is so fine he blows everybody’s mind, hey Richie, hey Richie!

Moments later, he pulled a kitty out of a tree, then saved a little old lady’s purse from a mugger. God bless him!

  42. walkinginthewasteland says: Aug 22, 2013 8:53 AM

There’s more of the Incognito we know. A turd can not change its stench.

  43. fanfrommontreal says: Aug 22, 2013 9:37 AM

I guess the security guard should expect a suspension too, poor Richie, all those people who want to do him harm for no reason…

  44. eatitfanboy says: Aug 22, 2013 10:12 AM

Spend a weekend on South Beach and you will see something like this play out 100 times.

Bouncers there love to fight and it takes very little to set them off. I have no idea what happened here, but if you think I am going to take this bouncer’s word for what happened, I’m not.

It was a bar fight between two dudes who like fighting. Let’s not make it more than what it is.

  45. bighurt228 says: Aug 22, 2013 5:41 PM

    @obummersballsack
