We passed along a report today that Dolphins guard Richie Incognito punched and knocked out a hotel security guard in an incident before the start of training camp. We now have some more information about the matter.

PFT has obtained a copy of the police report connected to the incident, and Incognito’s side of the story was that he was merely trying to break up a fight.

The incident took place when Incognito and his friends were attempting to get close to the stage during a performance at a club in the Fontainebleau hotel in Miami. A security guard told police that he asked Incognito’s group to step back, and someone in the group replied, “f--k you and what are you going to do about it?”

At that point, an altercation started between the security guard and Incognito’s friend, and Incognito told police that he was just trying to step in and stop the fight when he was hit in the face by the guard. The police report says Incognito had minor injuries to his face but declined medical treatment.

Incognito was not arrested but was escorted from the club and given a trespass warning, and he was told not to return to the hotel without permission.
