Le’Veon Bell getting second opinion on foot

Le'Veon Bell AP

We now know that the definition of “a while” means at least a week.

The Steelers just announced that running back Le’Veon Bell, who suffered a mid-foot sprain, is getting a second opinion.

“Le’Veon had his MRI on Tuesday, and we are still awaiting final diagnosis and results of a second opinion,” Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said. “He will not participate this weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs, and I will provide an update once we have received the official results of his tests over the next couple of days.”

That means in the short term, they’re back to relying on Issac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer, while they wait to see if Bell’s absence is going to be a longer one.

Second opinions are generally not a good sign.

A second opinion? It also smells bad.

Poor stealers.. Bell is gonna be one hell of a rb but only if he plays. Gonna be a long season for the stealers and would not be surprised if they take over as the division bottom feeder from the browns.

They should just name Dwyer the starter and roll with the big guy, Big Ben doesn’t need some fragile rookie trying to pass protect for him anyway…

People go for second opinions when they don’t like the first one. Lisfranc.

I guess now we will find out who the real steeler fans are. We already know who the Ben haters are. We know who the Tomlin haters are. Time will reveal the real hardcore steeler fans who are in it for the long haul we are about to start.

Here’s hoping Bell comes back soon as he looks promising.

Second opinion? What are the Steelers looking for? Some quack to tell them that it’s ok to keep playing an injured player. Haven’t they learned anything from the RGIII debacle? Let the man heal. Garsh.

I certainly hope that Bell can get healthy and remain healthy enough to play. My real concern is the sloppy play of the OL and turnovers by the offense. If the OL plays well, it does not matter that much which RB is carrying the ball.

2 2 Rather odd coming from a fan of deer antler spray and hgh Lewis and Suggs respectively. Seems both were rushed back with the help of some chemicals….. And you ring up the 70 steelers …please..

After watching the Steelers Redskins game it seems as though their will be some growing pains in learning the new zone blocking scheme. People were missing assignments, false starts, penalties. Just overall a rough night. I do think that practice and more practice will help the line alot. I do think once they get it down this team will run the ball well. Go Steelers!!

    Gio > Bell

And if Lacy continues to look good the Steelers will really look foolish. Bell shouldn’t have been picked before the 3rd round. Slow, no burst, etc. Knew he had high bust potential.
