Report: NFL fines George Wilson for horse-collar tackle

Titans safety George Wilson was penalized for a horse-collar tackle late in Saturday’s preseason loss at Cincinnati.

Now, he reportedly faces a fine.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Nashville Tennessean, Wilson indicated Wednesday he has been fined for tackling Bengals running back Dan Herron by the collar in the fourth quarter. Wilson, per the Tennessean, seemed to indicate he had been fined $15,000.

The tackle occurred on a 19-yard run by Herron.

Wilson, 32, is in his first season with the Titans. He spent the previous seven campaigns with Buffalo.

    Pollard’s been giving him pointers.

Why even throw a flag anymore? Why doesn’t the ref just give them a pen to sign the check?

Somewhere Bernard Pollard is thinking, “that’s my boy, taught him well”!

Offensive players never have to worry about fines. Defensive players should get paid more than them.

His intention was to stop the other guy

Him and pollard form the dirtiest and worst pass defending safety tandem in the league.

    Pollard’s been giving him pointers.

If that was the case Wilson could’ve missed tackles entirely and let guys run free around him, just like Pollard did Saturday night.

Does anyone recall an NFL Commissioner who loved to break out the fine more than Goodell?

It’s unreal. The guy levies these fines like a mob wise guy collecting “protection” from all the local businesses.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely, and we’re seeing that here. Goodell is out of control, but with a 10 year Labor Agreement in place for a lonnnng time — he’s feeling as smug and confident as kids throwing peanuts at a tiger behind bars in the zoo.

Titans fans: I don’t whether George will be a good player for you or not, but we loved him in Buffalo. Really good guy who’s great to the fans. We miss “The Senator”!

Sad when the only news to report for Buffalo is about a fine a former player incurred while playing for another team. Anything to report on JP Losman this morning?

Wilson grabbed the jersey if you watch the replay. Are the jerseys really that expensive?
