The Browns have placed punter T.J. Conley on waivers, the club announced Thursday.

The move leaves Spencer Lanning as Cleveland’s lone punter entering Saturday’s preseason game at Indianapolis.

Conley, 27, punted twice in the Browns’ first exhibition game. However, Lanning got all of the work in the second preseason game, and he fared well, with three of his six punts downed inside the Lions’ 20-yard-line in Cleveland’s victory against Detroit.

In two games, Lanning has averaged 45.8 yards on eight punts, with a net average of 39.0 yards. Conley’s net and gross average is 40.0 yards.

Conley was the Jets’ regular punter in 2011, posting a 38.8-yard net average in 16 regular-season games.
