Defensive tackle Jordan Hill was unable to finish practice with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday after suffering an apparent injury. Head coach Pete Carroll said afterward that Hill hurt his arm and they needed to wait and see the extent of the injury.

According to Jason Bristol of CBS 21 News in Harrisburg, Pa., Hill could miss 3-6 weeks with a partially torn biceps.

An MRI reportedly was negative for a complete tear and will not require surgery.

Hill was selected by the Seahawks in the third round of April’s NFL Draft out of Penn State. Hill was in the running to possibly start alongside Brandon Mebane in the Seahawks’ base defense. If he is out at least three weeks, he will not be available for the start of the regular season with the Seahawks travel to face the Carolina Panthers on Sept. 8.

  1. That’s too bad because Hill is a promising talent. Luckily he’s not out for the season–probably just a couple of games–and he will end up playing a lot of snaps this season. But it is a great (and unfortunate) reminder of just how unbelievably deep the roster is for the ‘Hawks.

  3. Ouch…well, at least it’s not season-ending. I hope you get well, Jordan. Word is you had a good camp, so I’m looking forward to seeing your D-line help when you recover.

  4. Other than being a Russell Wilson fan, it’s hard to be sympathetic toward anyone on Pete Carroll’s PED squad. Fortunately it’s not a season ending injury.

Carroll then exploded spraying the field with Adderall.

  6. Hill was looking like he was going to win the starting job. He is exactly what they thought a DT that could get some pass rush and hold up decent in the run. Jesse Williams (talanted guy) has the knee of a 15 year vet and cant practise since the draft. Good thing we have that Dolphins DT and Bennett looks like a monster in nickel packages inside. Howard as well. Hes gotta be on Pup list until week 6.

That’s pretty much true for any position other than DT. The ‘Hawks are definitely NOT deep with DTs. Losing Hill for any length of time hurts.

Not sure if you mean Hill or Williams. But either way it can’t be the PUP. Once a player practices in training camp he’s no longer eligible for the PUP and instead must go on IR. FWIW, I think Hill’s injury isn’t serious enough for the IR, but Williams’ definitely is, and that’s probably where he’ll start the season.
