Finally, we have a sliver of seemingly good news on the health front for Cardinals running back Ryan Williams.

Coach Bruce Arians said that Williams, who’s missed almost all of training camp and the first two preseason games with a knee issue, will take part in practice on Thursday, according to Darren Urban of AzCardinals.com.

Also, Arians indicated that Williams could have a chance to play in Saturday’s game vs. San Diego, according to Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic.

Simply being able to practice is a small step in the process for Williams, but it’s a positive step nonetheless, considering his lost summer to date. The more the 2011 second-round pick can show Arians and the coaching staff before the club has to pare its roster, the better.
