Tra Thomas officially joins Eagles staff as offensive assistant

Tra Thomas is now officially a full-time assistant coach for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Thomas, who played 11 seasons for the Eagles, had already been serving as a coaching intern for the Eagles. According to Geoff Mosher of CSNPhilly,com, the Eagles have officially made Thomas an offensive assistant on Chip Kelly’s staff.

Thomas has been mainly serving an assistant working with the offensive line for Philadelphia throughout training camp. He now joins the Eagles’ expansive coaching staff that now includes 25 members with the addition of Thomas.

Thomas was selected by the Eagles with the 11th overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. He played the first 11 years of his career in Philadelphia before stops in Jacksonville and San Diego. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and named a first-team All-Pro in 2002.
