With Yanda back, Ravens look better on offense

Marshal Yanda AP

All preseason, the worry with the Ravens has been that they lack complementary wide receivers or healthy tight ends.

Now that they have their offensive line back, it might not matter nearly as much.

With Pro Bowler Marshal Yanda back at right guard, the Ravens’ offensive line just mashed the Panthers front seven (which isn’t bad) for an impressive touchdown drive.

Quarterback Joe Flacco was sharp running the no-huddle, but the way they leaned forward and ran with Ray Rice was significant. With a defense on its heels , Flacco stood back and moved it around to guys such as wide receiver Brandon Stokley and tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, and those replacement targets looked more than sufficient.

Ravens offense looks solid tonight, great blocking on the offensive line and execution in the back-field..they will be back in the playoffs this year, and this is all coming from a Vikings fan

It’s a fluke. We all know they suck.

    More like Marshall Mathers.

Now every starter grab some bench before I have to see the dreaded *insert name* leaves the field with *insert injury* big black font headline.

    “As a Vikings fan”
    “As a packers fan”
    “As a Niners fan”

Why do people feel the need to announce their alliance? Who cares?

Hey Denver, New England,Cleveland & Pittsburgh— we are the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS and we will be again this time next year…

Ravens fans are soooo annoying and I LOVED watching Flacco’s INT.

  8. Stiller43 says: Aug 22, 2013 8:57 PM

And theyve promptly gained 30 combined yards their next 3 drives, including a pick 6

  9. releasetheorakigan says: Aug 22, 2013 8:58 PM

That was an elite pick 6.

  10. Stiller43 says: Aug 22, 2013 8:59 PM

LOL and now on the 4th they fumble it for a TD. Yeah super offense

Yeah that offense looked great on that latest Flacco PICK SIX! Uh oh don’t look now, looks like the great offense just gave up yet another TD.

Flacco’s gonna be an INT machine this year from the looks of things.

By the way anyone else catch Clark getting set up to be killed by one of Joe’s up-for-grabs? Good luck lasting the season, Dallas.

  14. Stiller43 says: Aug 22, 2013 9:13 PM

Hahaaha and the 5th ends with ANOTHER flacco pick

  15. releasetheorakigan says: Aug 22, 2013 9:13 PM

4 of those rings were won when half of us were still swimming in our daddy’s bags. At that point we may as well count NFL/AFL Championships.

Some emotional people always need to be reminded that preseason means jack.

The Ravens offense doesn’t look good after that first drive though. No denying that.

    SIX RINGS FOR ME.

    NONE FOR YOU.

    INT INT INT INT

  19. ampatsisahypocrite says: Aug 22, 2013 9:22 PM

And yet ANOTHER Flacco pick, right after Joe gets away with an interception thanks to a cheap unnecessary roughness call.

I nominate this post for “foot-in-mouth title of the night.”

Holy Moley what happen to Joe Flacco i thought he was a good qb after all he got that extention and all…..ooh Yah thats right he got lucky in denver by throwing a bomb with his eyes closed and oh yah that 24 yard run in the 4th in san diego ohh yeah but he is still good except for those ints in pre season i guess he wants denver to think he is diffrent now… the only difference is he is rich….

  21. fafaflunky says: Aug 22, 2013 9:40 PM

    maybe there better without yanda

  22. bengalguy says: Aug 22, 2013 9:52 PM

Hey Jealous, you know why you have 6 rings???…..because you USED to be good. Guess the keyword there!!!!

  23. dickjagger says: Aug 22, 2013 9:58 PM

The Ravens offense will gel once the season begins. The defense is looking much improved You Steeler trolls need to hush. Your Tebowed team looks much worse than ours and has shown it for multiple seasons now. I can’t wait to see one of the many pass rushers” we have put pigletsburger, in the ground.. We are the Champions.

  24. youarejealousof6rings says: Aug 22, 2013 10:06 PM

  25. youcanhatemenow says: Aug 22, 2013 10:07 PM

    Where is Dumervil??

  26. lovefootball4life says: Aug 22, 2013 10:58 PM

As far as I am concerned that offense can start the season. Stokely fills Boldin’s role. I assume Clark won’t drop his passes and Kluechly, who is a stud, won’t always force a pass or make an int. I’ll take that offense and defense against Denver to start the season.

    Yes. Go Ravens!

  27. barbeaux says: Aug 22, 2013 11:09 PM

    Those picks did look good

  28. Joemontanaflacco says: Aug 23, 2013 8:36 AM

How sad that Steeler fans have nothing better to do than celebrate a few Ravens’ turnovers. Have you guys signed Kerrigan as your tight end yet? He’s got great hands and can definitely outrun that shriveled up o line.

  29. cshearing says: Aug 23, 2013 9:00 AM

Maybe jumped the gun a little on this article? Things looked good for one drive.

  30. jtbsteeler says: Aug 23, 2013 11:02 AM

Anxious to hear how they spin that disaster of a 1st half. It’s a trend, Flacco is a int machine.

  31. jtbsteeler says: Aug 23, 2013 11:05 AM

All you Bengal fans, I’m coming for you after win week 2.

  32. jtbsteeler says: Aug 23, 2013 11:06 AM

    Where is Suggs?

  33. sullijo1 says: Aug 23, 2013 11:08 AM

Dumervil is a 3rd down pass rush specialist. Baltimore is using him correctly.
