Marcus Lattimore will begin season on PUP

Marcus Lattimore thinks he could practice now.

The 49ers, wisely, aren’t going to let him.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh said the rookie running back will begin the season on the PUP list, making him ineligible for at least the first six games.

Lattimore was as explosive a back as in the college game in recent years, until a grotesque knee injury which many feared could be caerer-ending. The 49ers were able to take a flier on him in the fourth round because of their stockpile of draft picks, and with a deep backfield, they (and he) can afford to wait.

This is good for Lattimore. Now he has a legitimate reason to stand around with his hands on his hips.

Good luck to him. Takes a lot of fortitude to overcome what he has had to deal with.

This is why the Steelers didn’t draft him.

No rush. If the knee is sound, he’ll get his chance. Let it heal.

No doubt in my mind he becomes the full-time starter and work-horse back once Frank Gore calls it a career. Lattimore and Kaepernick leading the 49er offense for the next 10 years make me giddy. scary. Just scary.

Titans circle October 20th on your calendar. I’d like to introduce you to the four horsemen/gazelles Marcus, Frank, LaMicheal and Colin… GULP is RIGHT!

He’s an investment that still needs time to mature. One of the areas the Niners are stacked in are our RB’s. I am excited to see what he can do in the future though.

    GO NINERS!!!!!
