Tebow doesn’t play, but says that’s OK

Last week, Tim Tebow had about as bad a preseason game as it’s possible to play. But this week may have been even worse for Tebow’s chances of making the Patriots’ 53-man roster, as Tebow never got on the field.

Tebow said afterward, however, that he’s fine with how everything is going in his quest to make the team.

“I’m a blessed individual,” Tebow said, via Ben Volin of the Boston Globe. “Happy to be here, and whatever I’m asked to do, I’m going to do.”

Tebow said that even if he’s on the sideline, he’s doing all he can.

“You just prepare, and what you are asked to do, you do it 100 percent with everything you have,” he said. “You want everything to go well, but it’s not. There are going to be ups and downs. That’s what life is, and you’ve just got to handle them as best as you possibly can.”

The few fans who remained at Ford Field late in the Lions’ 40-9 win over the Patriots chanted Tebow’s name and booed when the Patriots continued sending Ryan Mallett, rather than Tebow, onto the field. The fans were disappointed, even if Tebow was not.
