Matt Leinart, John Beck to work out for Bills

Matt Leinart and John Beck are getting another shot at showing they belong in the NFL.

Leinart and Beck are both on the way to Buffalo to work out for the Bills, Mike Garafolo of FOX Sports reports.

A former Heisman Trophy winner and No. 10 overall pick in the NFL draft, Leinart has had a disappointing NFL career. There’s been talk recently that he may be out of chances in the NFL, but the Bills are at least willing to consider giving him one more chance.

Beck was a second-round pick of the Dolphins in 2007 and has bounced around the league from Miami to Baltimore to Washington to Houston. He has seven starts in his career, four as a rookie in Miami and three in 2011 in Washington.

The Bills are looking for depth at quarterback because EJ Manuel is recovering from knee surgery and Kevin Kolb suffered a concussion in today’s preseason game.

They did it, before the season even started, they did it, they made themselves look stupid. Way to go Buffalo. Really comforting.

U think that the loser Matt will chomp his gum in disappointment like when he was drafted?, white spoiled trash scum!

Ironically Dances with Wolves is on and KEvin Costner is just blowing away this Buffalo with his rifle.

Save your money on Sunday Ticket people.

    This just in…..

Seattle trades Brady Quinn to Buffalo. Seattle’s happy with T Jack as a backup.

  6. FinFan68 says: Aug 24, 2013 9:40 PM

Leinart is a capable backup to Manuel

Might as well send them south to the Jets after their buffalo
Try outs. Can’t be any worse than Sanchez or Smith!

Just waiting for McNabb to release a statement saying that he wants to mentor EJ…

  12. donnymacjack says: Aug 24, 2013 9:54 PM

I’m telling you, all they have to do is call up Seattle and they can have Brady Quinn for a 7th rounder. Or if they’re smart they’ll wait until we cut him in a week…

umm wwwmattcom, so buffalo has done it? they injured manuels knee and knocked kolb in the head? Buffalo did it? Ur comment doesn’t make sense

They’d be better off running Spiller out there as the QB/HB and playing single wing with 20 plays to choose from then they would with those clowns.

    Why does God hate Buffalo?

  19. saints4life57 says: Aug 24, 2013 10:21 PM

WOW! All I can say is WOW! This might be the worst 4 QB’s in the entire NFL and they are all on the same team! If the Bills win 4 games i’d say they had a great season considering what they are working with! If these guys on this team weren’t making millions of dollars I think i’d honestly feel bad for them! Oh wait EJ is a rookie so I guess I can’t really dirt on him to much but he seems like he’s already going down the path of SUCKVILLE! LOL, poor Bills!

  20. ppc50 says: Aug 24, 2013 10:36 PM

Why not try out JaMarcus Russell? Better arm and faster than either of these guys. He also seems to have a real desire to straighten himself out and play again.

  21. swagger52 says: Aug 24, 2013 10:43 PM

AFC Least at it again. What has it been ten years now?

Too bad Flacco doesn’t play in this division

Kirk Cousins for a first, a second, and a third.

  24. henryjones20 says: Aug 24, 2013 11:01 PM

they need a backup qb who is smart and willing to help ej prepare for opponents. not a spoiled beach boy just looking for a couple paychecks

  25. corkspop says: Aug 24, 2013 11:56 PM

Not necessary. Bills have Brad Smith on the roster. Backs up Jeff Tuel for one or two games and then Bills are back at full strength.

I hear that Tebow might be available soon. I’m not sayin, I’m just sayin…

  28. tomcous says: Aug 25, 2013 1:32 AM

I was hoping that Kirk was drafted by Buffalo … Rather safe assumption Shanny won’t be trading him anytime soon!

  29. proanvk says: Aug 25, 2013 1:34 AM

Blaine Gabbert by far is the “WORST” qb in the game today, followed by Mark Sanchez, follwed by Kevin Kolb……end of discussion!!!!

Id love if the RAIDERS traded Flynn for a 4th to BUF. and let Pryor start… I can dream cant I?

  34. johnnyjagfan says: Aug 25, 2013 8:33 AM

Leinart was looking good in Texas according to all the coaches until he broke his collarbone in his first start. They were really high on him. The Oakland thing was a mess with Carson around throwing picks & he never got a chance. He could throw to Stevie & Scott Chandler & C.J. out of the backfield. He’s definitely better than Beck.

I also concur about the Jamarcus thing. Why not bring him in? No QB available has as much to prove and he can throw it 80 yards. If Stevie hauls them in instead of dropping them in the endzone & blaming Jesus, that would work. Also, if Jamarcus is serious, who better to tell E.J. how NOT to be as a rookie…

So what’s the Patriots’ magic number to clinch the East?
