The Bills saw running back C.J. Spiller grab his knee after a touchdown run and quarterback Kevin Kolb leave with concussion symptoms before the first quarter was out and the second quarter hasn’t been much better for them.
Cornerback Stephon Gilmore and safety Da’Norris Searcy have now left the game for medical attention as well. The Bills announced Gilmore is getting tests on his hand while Searcy is being evaluated for a head injury.
Gilmore is the team’s top cornerback and losing him for any extended period of time would be a very bad development for the Buffalo defense. The second-year player had what almost certainly would have been a touchdown gifted to him by Redskins quarterback Rex Grossman Saturday, but Gilmore couldn’t hold onto the ball.
Searcy is one of the players vying to start next to Jairus Byrd at safety this season. He’s played 31 games over the last two seasons, starting three times.
