Colts hope Castonzo (MCL) can still make opener

The Colts made moves this offseason to try to fix a leaky offensive line.

But the parts they kept from last year’s version keep getting hurt, adding to the list of problems.

Colts left tackle Anthony Castonzo will miss the preseason finale with an MCL sprain, casting some degree of doubt on his availability for the opener.

“Yeah, got the MRI and it, like we talked last night, pretty much came back as a mild MCL sprain,” Coach Chuck Pagano said, in comments distributed by the team. “The MRI was pretty much negative. It wasn’t as bad as anybody anticipated, so he’s going to be day-to-day. He won’t play, obviously, in this next contest but hopefully be ready for the opener.”

Right guard Mike McGlynn is also out with a knee injury suffered in practice last week.

Pagano said he was hopeful both could return for the Sept. 8 opener against the Raiders. If not, quarterback Andrew Luck might be on the run more than anyone’s comfortable with.

Castonzo … Costanza … one is a clown … the other was in “Seinfeld’.

He might be the best they have, but that isn’t saying much. He’s far too soft to be a left tackle.

They had a chance with all that cap room to get build up that OL.

He’ll be ready to roll early and he’s a solid run blocker, and good enough for Luck’s blind side.

Castonzo is a notorious hypochondriac………….or maybe that’s someone else I’m thinking about.
