Jarvis Jones out of hospital, tests are negative

Jones

As expected, Steelers linebacker Jarvis Jones has been released from the hospital, after suffering a chest injury on Saturday night.

The team has announced that Jones is out of the hospital, and that tests were negative. But the team didn’t specify the tests that were conducted, and it remains to be seen whether Jones will be able to return to practice or games in the immediate future.

There’s a chance the Steelers are being circumspect in order to enhance their ability to find a replacement for Jones, if a short-term or long-term substitute is needed.

For now, there are still plenty of unanswered questions about Jones’ status. The Steelers have no obligation to say anything more until the Wednesday before the regular-season opener, when the first injury report of the season is due.
