Tommy Streeter’s tenure in Baltimore ends without a catch

Tommy Streeter, a wide receiver whom the Ravens selected in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL draft, will exit Baltimore with zero career catches.

A league source tells PFT that the Ravens have cut Streeter.

Last year Streeter suffered a foot injury before the season and spent the year on injured reserve. This year Streeter was healthy enough to get on the field in the preseason, but he wasn’t able to do enough to convince the Ravens he belonged.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Streeter was the Miami Hurricanes’ leading receiver as a junior in 2011 and has enough potential that some other team may pick him up.

Great draft pick by the “genius” Ozzie Newsome.

never should have come out early.

Kid got absolutely terrible advice and left school way too early.

Had first round size and speed, if he would have stayed one more year with Jedd Fisch he probably could have put the whole thing together. He was just starting to figure it out his junior year, but for some insane reason (Drew Rosenhaus) he left.

Don’t be shocked if he ends up in Jacksonville with Fisch again, it would be a good landing spot for him.

Typical bust coming for a second-rate organization. LOL

One of the laziest players I’ve ever seen grace a football field. Good riddance.

You know mad Steelers kids are desperate when they’re trolling 6th rd draft picks. But I’m sure the castoff Felix Jones will make a fine starting RB

Steeler fans need something to do..

And nothing if value was lost.

The “genius” does pretty well with undrafted free agents. Once in a while a late round pick goes the wrong way.

How many teams have made the playoffs in each of the last five years.

That would be the Ravens – run by the “genius” GM, the “old and over-rated” defense, and the “over-paid” QB.

As a Pats fan, I still think the Ravens did the right thing: use a late round pick on a kid with big upside. If he never pans out, you cut him and move on.

Come to DC, and join Hankerson….kid just needs time.

He would need to go to a team who can develop young receivers, such as Dallas.

Im a Steelers fan, and thought Oz did a great job drafting this kid. He was a stud his Jr. year. He was worth the pick.

Not sure the reason he was released. If it was because he was lazy, then he deserved to be cut.

I hope the kid gets a chance. He has a TON of potential.

That’s too bad. I like the big megaton sized receivers. He had his chance. Now Marlon Brown is the one I’m pulling for. Just as big as Streeter.

sorry steeler fans. you all shouldnt be commenting on any one’s draft picks.

Wait, so you mean Ozzie Newsome is a moron for a 6th round pick not playing well enough to stay with the organization? Please tell me again how great the Steelers wide receiving corps is again.

Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Saunders (seriously?) and……..Who else receives passes for them? Yeah, troll somewhere else idiot. The fact that you are holding a 6th round pick in such high regard shows that you know nothing about football and just like to rely on the past.

Too bad for Streeter. Rookie Mellette and undrafted Marlon Brown will be playing. And Stokely looks like he still has it. And goodbye David Reed. And Shianco.

  18. jimmyjames65 says: Aug 25, 2013 10:03 PM

Looks like Ozzie knows what he is doing. Under the circumstances.

  19. Joemontanaflacco says: Aug 26, 2013 8:44 AM

Ozzie gave him a shot but he couldn’t play like a Raven. He DID play like a Steeler which is why he got cut. Maybe a few seasons on an 8-8 team will harden him up and he can come back to Baltimore where championships happen.
