Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams figured after this long in the NFL, he had earned a little more respect.

But he was frustrated after leaving last night’s game following a low block from San Francisco’s second-year backup guard Joe Looney.

I was just upset that I’m getting cut 11 years in [the NFL] from a guy who I don’t even know,” Williams said, via Mark Craig of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune. “I figure between the pain and the fact he cut me when I wasn’t looking was my reaction.”

The pain will be more for the Vikings if the results of today’s MRI show damage to his right knee.

“Kevin Williams is probably the one injury we’re concerned about,” Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. “Other than that, whatever we had were bumps and bruises that should be fine in time. Kevin is the one we’ll take a look at [Monday].”

If Williams is forced to miss any time, the Vikings would need first-rounder Sharrif Floyd to play a larger role. He didn’t play against the 49ers after a minor procedure on his knee, but is expected to be fine for the opener.
