Starting quarterbacks Josh Freeman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Jay Cutler of the Chicago Bears are both in contract years. Both starters have a lot to prove if they want to be back with their current teams next season.

Cutler and Freeman are not in the same situation. Cutler has the media bullseye on him which in turn creates a negative bias from rival fans but he’s won and proven he’s a consistent winner. Something that neither Freeman or Romo for that matter have been able to do on a regular basis. Cutler will get a lucrative contract either way at the end of the season by some team.
