Redskins make 10 roster moves

Eric Kettani AP

Promoted by the Navy to lieutenant in June, fullback Eric Kettani has now been demoted by the Redskins.

Kettani was one of five non-vested veterans waived by the team on Monday, as part of 10 total roster moves.

Also waived were linebacker Ricky Elmore, kicker John Potter, receiver Chip Reeves, and linebacker Quan Sturdivant.  Veteran receiver Donte’ Stallworth, who entered the league as a first-round pick in 2002, had his contract terminated.

The team also placed linebacker Keenan Robinson and safety Phillip Thomas on injured reserve, and waived-injured cornerback Richard Crawford and linebacker Jeremy Kimbrough.

Here’s the part where we mention every team must have the roster down to 75 by Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. ET.

how can he be – hes barely played. he’ll either be cut or practice squad. and practice squad if he has a big game on thursday. no chance for the final 53 – none.

Not looking good for Jamison to make the 53. Likely headed to practice squad.

A team is only allowed to place so many players on IR. Crawford will still be on the team, he just has to clear waivers first. So they saved the IR for Robinson and Thomas and W/IR’ed Crawford and Kimbrough. Taking a W/IR on waivers is generally considered kind of a d1ck move, and doesn’t happen a lot, which is why there was a big fuss when the Patriots sniped Jake Ballard from the Giants injured reserve designation a couple years back.

He’ll be on the practice squad. He looks solid but he hasn’t been as impressive as Chris Thompson, which is why he hasn’t been getting carries in the preseason. Keiland Williams had an impressive night against Buffalo, but that may have been more luck than anything else and it’s doubtful he makes the team. Shanahan loves Royster, although he’s seen a couple injries and greatly reduced role this offseason. Thompson, Helu, and the Butler are obviously locks, and if they keep a fourth spot open it would probably be a competition between Royster and Jamison, which Royster would probably win, sending Jamison to the practice squad.

Sometimes those late-night commercials make me worried that I’m below average where it counts, but then I see comments like this, and realize I’m doing just fine.

thanks for the heads up on Jamison. I have him in a 14 team super deep dynasty league with IDP and am trying to decide if I should keep him on my roster or not.
