Report: Mike Goodson to report to Jets in next 24 hours

The Jets closed the book on running back Joe McKnight on Monday, a move that appears to be coming just before they get another runner back on the roster.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that running back Mike Goodson is expected to report to the team in the next 24 hours after spending the entire summer to date away from the team while dealing with undisclosed personal matters.

Goodson was arrested in May after being found passed out in a car that was stopped in the middle of I-80 in New Jersey early in the morning. He was charged with a variety of felony drug and gun charges, although there have been reports that the driver of the car, who was also passed out when police arrived, has claimed ownership of the gun.

Until Goodson does report, there’s no way to know how close he might be to being in game shape. The Jets could definitely use his ability to catch passes out of the backfield and break the occasional long run, though, so he’ll likely be given a chance to get ready to roll by a team that’s already been plenty patient with one of their free agent acquisitions.

Mike Goodson or M-Good as I like to call him will be a nice addition to the Jets offense. If he can stay healthy and out of trouble he could be starting by Week 3 when Chris “Brittle” Ivory gets injured

    He was obviously in rehab.

Once he’s ready to go he will be the #1 reciever, because Sanchez usually checks down.

Besides being based in New York, please give ONE legitimate reason to write anything about the lowly JETS??

Wow. You know you’re in the hopper when you consider this as good news. Especially considering if he was in rehab (which is most likely the case), he’s looking at a suspension for probably 6-8 games (I’m sure this isn’t his first offense).
