Gabbert says he’s on track for Week One

Jaguars quarterback Blaine Gabbert will be the team’s starter, when he’s healthy.  He thinks he’ll be healthy in time for the first game of the regular reason.

Via Ryan O’Halloran of the Florida Times-Union, Gabbert said he’s “still on schedule” to face the Chiefs on September 8.

Not bad for a guy who currently can’t grip the football due to a hairline fracture in his thumb.

“We’ll know more tomorrow and in the next couple days,” Gabbert said.  “It’s coming up quick.”

Gabbert expects it to hurt, but he realizes that there’s a difference between pain and injury.

“Of course it’s going to be painful but at the same time, you’re always playing with things, nicks, bumps, dings and bruises,” Gabbert said.  “I’ll have to manage it.”

More importantly, Gabbert needs to manage to find a way to play much better — or he won’t be playing much longer.

    Bizzaro bounty gate:

“Ok defenders, when you sack Gabbert, just make sure you don’t injure his hand further. We need him in the game to win.”

Time for thegreatgabbert to tell us:
    1) how Blaine is the best QB in the league
    2) how he is successful in spite of the poor supporting cast he has in Jacksonville
    3) how he was best QB in college, and was the all star champion in high school even though he missed his senior year.
    4) how he will be the savior of his team, and will once again be the “Best” QB in the league!

    Ha ha ha, so predictable!!!

Can’t decide what’s worse, Gabbert returning from his injury or Henne replacing him!

Is this announcement good news or bad news?

Thegreatgabbert is a bad example of a jags fan. Either he’s trolling, or delusional. The consensus amongst most fans is that we hope gabbert can improve his play- he’s a really nice kid- but we’re not exactly expecting it to happen.

Gabbert with a healthy thumb is awful. Gabbert with, at best, a sore thumb? Disaster. But that’s the plan, right?

With the first pick of the 2014 draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars select Teddy Bridgewater, QB from the University of Louisville.

Will somebody please fix the Jags’ helmets? Incredibly, they’re even uglier than the Bengals’.

  17. randomcommenter says: Aug 28, 2013 12:12 AM

Gabbert is ahead of schedule. He’s already playing subpar QB at a midseason level.

Gabbert is on track to lead the Jags to the number 1 pick in next year’s draft.

  19. ssraebel says: Aug 28, 2013 12:25 AM

As a Jags fan there are 3 things to look forward to for next year. 1) getting rid of the awful helmets 2) the QB in the draft next year 3) finally getting rid of Gabbert.

Leaf, Russell and Gabbert. In that order.

  20. ddogdaddy says: Aug 28, 2013 12:38 AM

Gabbert should keep his eyes on his rear view mirror as it looks as if Ricky (Bobby) Stanzi is gaining on him. And remember what Ricky Bobby’s daddy told his son “if you ain’t first you’re last”. No truer words have ever been spoken.
