Mike Shanahan (the player) has short stay in Tampa

On Monday, the Bucs got rid of some players but added tight end Mike Shanahan.  On Tuesday, the Bucs got rid of tight end Mike Shanahan.

The team also announced that tight end Zach Miller has been released.  Miller (not the one who plays for the Seahawks) spent three years with the Jaguars before joining the Bucs.

The Buccaneers got to 75 by waiving receiver Terriun Crump, linebacker Jacob Cutera (waived-injured), receiver Chris Denton, guard Adam Smith, and defensive back Branden Smith.

    Serious question…What is the value of adding some unheard of player and cutting him less then 24 hours later?
    What could they have discovered so quickly? I doubt the player has even boarded a plane, never mind stepped on the practice field.
    It’s also not all that rare. So, the purpose is….?

    Just like Eric Wright failed a physical but by the grace of Tebow's father he was miraculously healed ?

    I don't get it either, makes no sense.
