Cornerback Will Blackmon was out of the NFL in 2012 and he’ll need to find a new team if he wants to avoid the same fate in 2013.

Blackmon was one of two cuts announced by the Seahawks on Tuesday as the team moved toward 75 men ahead of Tuesday afternoon’s deadline. Blackmon was a fourth-round pick of the Packers in 2006 and returned three punts for touchdowns for Green Bay in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Injuries slowed him down, however, and Blackmon’s last NFL action came with the Giants during their Super Bowl run at the end of the 2011 season.

The Seahawks are quite deep at cornerback, which would have made Blackmon’s task tough even without being inactive all of last season.

Seattle also officially announced that they have waived wide receiver Donavon Kemp. Kemp spent the last two weeks with the team and spent the 2012 season on injured reserve with the Cowboys.

The Seahawks roster is at 79 players after the transactions. The rest of their moves may involve moving injured wide receiver Percy Harvin, defensive end Greg Scruggs and cornerback Tharold Simon to the regular season pup list while linebacker Korey Toomer moves to the reserve/non-football injury list.
