Receiver Mike Sims-Walker, who once appeared to be an up-and-coming star, has had a rough few years in the NFL.

Unable to land a spot on the Jets’ 90-man roster after participating in a minicamp on a tryout basis and with no one else interested, Sims-Walker has opted to continue his career in Canada.

He has signed with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the CFL.

“Mike is a very experienced receiver who we feel possesses great skill that could allow him to excel on our wide-open fields in Canada,” Blue Bombers acting General Manager Kyle Walters. “We’re looking forward to getting him acclimated to the CFL game.”

In 2009, his second in the league, Sims-Walker racked up 869 receiving yards for the Jaguars. In thee seasons after that, he gained a grand total of 711 yards.
