After hosting the Buccaneers earlier this month, the Patriots decided to try to remove any trace they might have left behind.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Patriots had their training facility treated to kill any potential MRSA the Bucs might have left behind. The Patriots had the visiting locker room at Gillette Stadium and all the equipment the Buccaneers used professionally sanitized.
The Bucs sort-of acknowledged the outbreak at their facility, after kicker Lawrence Tynes and guard Carl Nicks were infected with the staph infections, and Tynes’ wife said earlier today his recovery isn’t particularly smooth.
The Patriots haven’t encountered any cases of such infections, but treating their facility with extra care is the only responsible behavior.
