Offensive lineman Seth Olsen left the Minnesota Vikings’ preseason finale against the Tennessee Titans Thursday night on a stretcher after colliding with linebacker Scott Solomon.

According to the Associated Press, Olsen was blocking on a screen pass when he took a blow to his helmet from Solomon’s knee. Trainers quickly responded and motioned for a stretcher to attend to Olsen on the field.

The crowd applauded for Olsen when he gave a thumbs-up with his left hand as he was being wheeled off the field.

Olsen started four games for the Vikings last season and is listed as the backup right guard on the team’s depth chart.

and at the end of the game he walked back into the locker room on his own. Suffered a concussion but will be just fine. Thank goodness. Scary.

Hate to see that. Hope he’s ok.

It sounds like he’s probably going to be okay. He didn’t start four games for the Vikings last year. I think he’s started four games in his career with some team. He’s a valuable backup lineman.

Sign him up for $0.003 in that new concussion settlement.

Hopefully Seth will be fine and this was all precautionary.

Always scary when a player gets carted off though.

What is up with all of the injuries in the NFC North ?

First things fist, hope Olsen is okay.

But that was a nasty (though legal) cut block he was throwing, going right for the defender’s legs, that ended up in the “scary collision” of a knee to his helmet. Solomon was just doing what defenders are taught to defeat that low block — and protect themselves — by going over it.

Would not complain in the least if the league looked at further restricting or banning cut clocks. They always look like an injury just waiting to happen. Only this time, it was because the blocker lowered his head and — as the “what not to do” training video for tackling would say — didn’t even see what he was hitting.

    “Took a blow”?
“Placed a blow” is what happened, and the cutblock backfired. Cannot say that I have any sympathy for Mr. Olsen.

Get well soon Seth. Hope to see you out there again!

Hope he will quickly be back on the field!
Which is better said than vikings fans “rooting” for injuries on the Packers!
