The Bears are down to three quarterbacks for the moment, and the NFL is down to one Palmer brother quarterback.
Bears reserve Jordan Palmer just announced on Twitter that he was “headed home today,” and thanked the Bears for the opportunity.
The Bears didn’t use either Jay Cutler or backup Josh McCown last night, leaving it in the hands of Trent Edwards and Palmer.
Palmer was perfectly acceptable in the preseason, and his 103.0 rating was the highest of all the Bears quarterbacks.
The Bears could also end up getting rid of Edwards, but then they’d likely want to add a younger player to the practice squad. According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, they worked out five passers this week, including Jordan Rodgers (the brother of Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers).
