Cowboys move on from Anthony Armstrong

As a rookie with the Redskins in 2010, receiver Anthony Armstrong caught 44 passes for 871 yards — an average of 19.8 yards per catch.

Since then, he hasn’t done much.

The Redskins let him go after 2011, and Armstrong bounced from the Dolphins to the Jaguars to the Cowboys in 2012.  The Cowboys will now be releasing Armstrong, per a league source.

Armstrong visited the Giants before re-signing with Dallas in April.  Because he doesn’t have four years of service, he’ll be required to pass through waivers before becoming a free agent.

Anthony Armstrong was a rookie in 2008 with the Dolphins as a UFA on the practice squad.

was he really a rookie? didn’t he spend some time with the Dolphins?

Seems like a nice kid, but I never understood how he even made an NFL roster. He always seemed to bobble balls thrown his direction, like he had some sort of nervous energy. It was hard to watch.

Anyway, hopefully he catches on somewhere and proves me wrong.

I was afraid the Cowboys would go with 5 WRs instead of 6 bumping Armstrong out. Has good speed and can contribute on special teams. Wish him the best. Eagles should give him a look if they need a WR.
