A 29-year-old man is in fair condition after falling from an escalator during Thursday night’s game between the Cardinals and Broncos in Denver.

According to KDVR-TV, Noel Robinson fell roughly 10 feet.  Originally, it was feared that he had fallen a greater distance and in turn sustained more serious injuries.

Denver police determined the fall to be accidental.

Robinson was taken to a local hospital.  He was conscious and talking.

“We are aware of an accident involving a patron falling from an escalator during the fourth quarter of tonight’s game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High,” the stadium management company said in a statement.  “The victim was taken to an area hospital by Denver paramedics, and Stadium Management Company is working with authorities to gather more information about this incident.”

The outcome could have been much worse for Robinson.  Whatever the cause of these types of incidents at baseball and football stadiums, they happen too often.

In some stadiums the railings aren’t very high at the ends of steep stairs. It’s kinda like the empire’s no railings policy on the Death Star. I took my family to a lions game last year and our suite’s railing didn’t feel tall enough to stop a person who tripped down the stairs.

Fortunately, he didn’t fall into the Arikaree River.

    Best wishes to all.

Bad day for him and for his family and friends. The Broncos lose and he gets injured by falling. Sucks.

alcohol? lack of common sense? combination of the two? I wonder if they stop selling beer by the gallon if fewer incidents of any negative persuasion would occur and then if a return to a family environment would ensue. Ponder that…. A dad being able to go to a game with his son, spending a few hundred bucks on tickets, snacks and soft drink and getting home safely with happy memories for life. That seems like a novel idea.

He was probably trying to reach over the railing to deface a Flacco poster.

Oh yeah, and drunk as hell.

10 feet may not seem like a long fall. But when it is “roughly”……
