Jairus Byrd getting second opinion on sore foot

The Bills waited a long time for safety Jairus Byrd to report to the team this offseason and now they’re waiting to find out if he’s going to miss time after reporting because of a sore foot.

In a near replay of what went on with defensive end Mario Williams at the start of training camp, Byrd has gone to North Carolina to see Dr. Robert Anderson for a second opinion on his foot. Byrd reported to the team a little more than a week ago and has been a limited participant in practice while picking up the new defense and dealing with his ailing foot. For now, coach Doug Marrone is choosing not to worry.

“It’s not a concern yet until Dr. Anderson says something,” Marrone said, via the team’s website.

Between Byrd’s less than enthusiastic responses to questions about how he feels being back with the team and his foot issue, Byrd’s return to Buffalo isn’t off to a particularly rousing start. Should things continue on similar lines, it will be a concern for the Bills defense regardless of what Dr. Anderson has to say about Byrd’s foot.

Regardless of how his foot ‘feels’, Byrd is only hurting himself and his future career prospects by the way he is handling this situation. Every GM and Head Coach in the NFL is aware of it.

Initially I blamed the Bills for not giving one of their best players a long term contract…Now I know why they didn’t, an ailing foot.
It’s nice to see that the Bills aren’t as naive as the Seahawks with the Avril situation who is out indefinitely with a lingering hamstring injury and sitting on a guaranteed 11 million salary.

He is all about himself and money… Ne has no heart or honor, I would rather applaud our military veterans that do their job for the love of country not money… I hope you find happiness with your bountiful cash that you are not willing to work for… You should be ashamed!

More money will make it all better.
