Report: Bills extend Eric Wood

Wood

Eric Wood will now be able to buy the ingredients to make a lot of sandwiches.

The Bills center, who was entering the final year of his rookie deal and who bears a striking resemblance to a grown-up Thurman Merman, has agreed to terms on a new contract, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Wood, represented by David Dunn of Athletes First, had explained during the offseason that the 2009 first-round pick is focused only on football and not on his contract.

“Hopefully I can have a deal done with Buffalo before too long, and seal up my future in Buffalo,” Wood said. “But at this point, I’m just looking forward to my fifth year in Buffalo, really feeling healthy this time of the year for the first time in a while, and I’m doing OTAs for the first time in a while, and just really excited about this season’s going to bring.”

And now the Bills can refrain from worrying about the center position. As they continue to worry about the guy he’ll be snapping the ball to.

Whoever it may be.
