Broncos cut a pair of picks among 22 moves

The Broncos released a pair of this year’s draft picks, as part of their 22 moves to get to the 53-man roster limit.

The team waived fifth-round wide receiver Tavarres King and sixth-round tackle Vinston Painter, which might not be ideal but speaks to the depth of the existing roster.

One of the roster spots is for linebacker Von Miller, who is suspended for the first six weeks They also placed linebackers Stewart Bradley and Lerentee McCray and defensive end Quanterus Smith on injured reserve.

 

They also released┬árunning back Lance Ball, center/guard C.J. Davis, running back Jeremiah Johnson, center/guard Ryan Lilja and tight end Jake O’Connell, and waived defensive end Jeremy Beal, center/guard Philip Blake, tackle Paul Cornick, defensive tackles Romney Fuga and Ben Garland, cornerback Aaron Hester, linebacker Damien Holmes, ┬ásafety Ross Rasner, wide receivers Gerell Robinson and Lamaar Thomas and defensive end John Youboty.

    they brought lilja out of retirement then released him? wow what a donkeys move.

    Lilja must really be happy, turkey-neck Manning begs him to come out of retirement to play center for him then gets his butt cut.

    Every team cuts some draft picks. ALL cuts speak to the depth of team’s rosters.

    You could also say that the broncos have a lousy scouting department OR their personnel men were both in jail at the time of the draft OR in a bar.

    Whatever….Lilja was getting pushed around way too much in preseason to be a viable option…he belongs on the couch.
