Browns have no kickers after final cuts

Here’s how you can tell “final cuts” aren’t final at all.

The Browns now have no kickers, after terminating the contract of veteran Shayne Graham and waiving Brandon Bogatay.

Sources indicate that they’ll probably add one in the coming days. Or maybe not, who knows, could be a bold strategy by new coach Rob Chudzinski.

They also placed wide receiver Josh Gordon on the reserve/suspended list, and waived offensive lineman Aaron Adams, defensive back Akeem Auguste, linebacker Justin Cole, running back Jamiane Cook, defensive lineman Hall Davis, wide receiver Tori Gurley, linebacker James-Michael Johnson, wide receiver David Nelson, wide receiver Naaman Roosevelt, defensive lineman Brian Sanford, defensive back Jamoris Slaughter and linebacker Justin Staples.

Which is only slightly worse than the Packers’ kicking situation.

if the offense is anything like the chargers when norv was there past couple years, they wont need a kicker, as long as they have a solid punter they are good.

No kicker, it’s good to be optimistic but that could backfire.

Why would they need a kicker? It’s not like they’ll ever cross the 50.

Maybe they’re just going to run the team like I run my fantasy football league…pick up a new kicker and/or defense every week based on match up.

Indeed. Too bad they wouldn’t work out a trade with anyone, those players are solid backups for most teams. Browns actually looking like they have some depth at DL, and possibly LB? Good building blocks.

“could be a bold strategy” by Chud. That’s pretty hilarious. Haven’t laughed that hard in a while.
