Veteran linebacker Robert James was among nine players released by the Falcons on Saturday, the club’s website said.
The Falcons are at the 53-player roster limit.
James appeared in all 16 regular-season games in 2012 as a reserve, notching 11 tackles. The Falcons took him in the fifth round of the 2008 draft.
The Falcons also parted ways with fullback Patrick DiMarco, wide receiver Darius Johnson, cornerback Jordan Mabin, guard Phillipkeith Manley, guard/center Jacques McClendon, wide receiver Martel Moore, defensive tackle Adam Replogle and wide receiver James Rodgers. James Rodgers is the brother of Falcons running back Jacquizz Rodgers.
