The Browns have made some additions to their running back ranks.

According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, Cleveland has been awarded Bobby Rainey on waivers from Baltimore. Also, the Browns have added rookie Dennis Johnson, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS. Johnson was waived Saturday by Houston.

Rainey and Johnson join Brandon Jackson and Chris Ogbonnaya as reserve options behind starter Trent Richardson. Both backs could conceivably contribute in the return game for Cleveland, too. Rainey (5-8, 212) and Johnson (5-7, 196) led their respective former clubs in punt and kickoff return yardage in the preseason.

Rainey, 25, is a second-year pro from Western Kentucky. He spent parts of the 2012 season on the Ravens’ practice squad and active roster but did not appear in a game. He was placed on injured reserve (knee) in November.

Johnson, 23, went undrafted from Arkansas this spring.
