Browns dump Kellen Davis

Davis AP

Yes, tight end Kellen Davis made it onto the Browns’ initial 53-man roster.  Less than 18 hours later, he’s gone.

Per a league source, Davis has been cut by the Browns.

Davis, dumped earlier this year by the Bears, appeared in 16 games for each of the last five years, starting 15 in 2012 and 15 in 2011.

He appeared in all four preseason games for the Browns, starting in Week Three and Week Four.

A vested veteran, Davis instantly becomes a free agent.  He was due to earn a base salary of $715,000, the minimum for a sixth-year player.

The Browns are still without a kicker. Guess they don’t have plans on crossing midfield this season.

I agree…How can you let a Phil Dawson go when it’s so difficult to kick in that stadium with the wind and all? Major goof that will cost them any or all close games.

Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. Him and J. Webb would be a good start to the no-heart team.

They didn’t let Dawson go. Dawson told them he wasn’t coming back. He was tired of losing.

What is going on in Cleveland? How can so many GM’s & coaches suddenly become so stupid? Is it the water, or what?
