Yes, tight end Kellen Davis made it onto the Browns’ initial 53-man roster. Less than 18 hours later, he’s gone.
Per a league source, Davis has been cut by the Browns.
Davis, dumped earlier this year by the Bears, appeared in 16 games for each of the last five years, starting 15 in 2012 and 15 in 2011.
He appeared in all four preseason games for the Browns, starting in Week Three and Week Four.
A vested veteran, Davis instantly becomes a free agent. He was due to earn a base salary of $715,000, the minimum for a sixth-year player.
