The Chiefs currently have priority on claiming any player they choose on waivers.
They have made use of that privilege.
For starters, they were awarded former Seahawks defensive lineman Jaye Howard on waivers, as PFT reported Sunday. Also, according to ESPN contributor Adam Caplan, the club added former 49ers wide receiver Chad Hall on waivers. Hall previously played for Chiefs coach Andy Reid in Philadelphia.
The Chiefs also claimed former Browns linebacker James-Michael Johnson, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reported. Johnson is likely to project inside in the Chiefs’ 3-4 defense.
In other roster moves, the Chiefs waived cornerback Jalil Brown, Caplan reported earlier Sunday. Then came news that the Chiefs had claimed former 49ers cornerback Marcus Cooper, per Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee.
It’s also expected the Chiefs will part ways with tight end Kevin Brock, Caplan reported.
