In a move that bolsters their special-teams coverage ranks, the Ravens were awarded ex-Falcons linebacker Robert James on waivers on Sunday, according to the NFL’s transaction log.

James, 28, notched 10 special-teams tackles for Atlanta in 2012. A fourth-year pro from Arizona State, the 5-foot-11, 224-pound James likely projects as a backup inside linebacker on defense.

In a corresponding roster move, the Ravens waived/injured third-year wide receiver LaQuan Williams, who’s recorded nine special-teams tackles in the previous two seasons. According to Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun, Williams has a hamstring injury, and an injury settlement is anticipated.
